RE: second motion to amend awards ballot


My reasoning is that if an iris has already been on the Dyke's Medal ballot
for 3 years, it shouldn't be on the ballot for 4+ years just because there are
not enough SMs from that class to number 3 nominees.  Since it is feasible,
but not likely, that a class of iris would not receive a SM one year, then you
would go back to the previous year to place the last iris to be on the ballot
in that class (giving that iris an additional year of eligibility)?  The list
of eligible irises in classes other than TBs is small and in some cases almost
non existent.  I just think all iris should have the same number of years to
be eligible for the Dyke's Medal.
