I think the problem was in the file names. tom has just recently successfully uploaded his files. I also suggested zipping the files (which hides the file names co only the archive name has to conform. That also was successful (and saved space)

I also like GetDropBox. I need to do a little more investigation of it.

I know that in the past some ftp clients have defaulted to text mode, and switched to binary mode only reluctantly, resulting in corrupted data in several different kinds of situations. Perhaps this is the kind of problem Tom saw. If so, using the newer clients in current systems should alleviate the problem.
