Re: Section Mini-convention Bulletin coverage
I agree with most of you have said.B We have to remember, there are a lot of
members that are not members of any local affiliate, section and/or
cooperating society.B The sections and cooperating societies are members of
AIS and we should be able to assist them with advertising their conventions.B
The past year I ask all of the sections and cooperating societies to advertise
the 2016 AIS Convention and most of them did so.
How to place and where to place the information would be up to the managing
editor and the editor.B I think in we should tell the members where to find
the registration form and not have to print the in the AIS Bulletin.
My 2 cents.

Good Evening.
The Iris Society of Dallas is hosting the SLI Convention in April 2017.
Could we purchase an ad for the Winter & Spring editions of IRIS?
Thank you,

Good afternoon,
I think listing the section conventions, dates, location and a contact
person is sufficient.B Most of the attendees are going to be members of the
sections already and will obtain their registration forms through their
sections.
Printing the registration forms in Irises is an unnecessary expense.
Thanks,

Subject: [AISdiscuss] Section Mini-convention Bulletin coverage
I'm seeking opinions please.
The Bulletin is all things to allB people in our iris world.B There is
competition for copy space from aB number of fronts.B We attempt to provide
publicity and coverage of allB national iris events, be it the parent
organization or our Sections andB Co-operating Societies.B In the spring of
2017 there
will beB mini-conventions by the Median Iris Society, The Society for
Louisiana IrisesB and the Spuria Iris Society.B I don't believe we should
devote one-twoB pages of Registration and publicity pages for each Section
in our fall and/orB winter issues but would like your thoughts and opinions.
I think it betterB for each to publicize and print their registration forms
in their ownB bulletins.B We are going to press for an October 10
publish/mail date so need a quick response.
Thank you.
