I've seen a number of good ideas on other plant society websites.  Here is a
terrific idea on encouraging new memberships that the daylily society has
implemented:

"Members who join at any level and members who renew at a higher level will
receive a voucher worth $25.00 or more toward daylilies at a participating
vendor."
