Re: Fwd: Iris pseudacorus unknown varieties

It sounds a bit like the futures market that existed in the Netherlands in
the 1630s known as Tulipomania, as folks bought and sold tulip bulbs that
they never saw bloom. That all collapsed in the winter of 1636-1637
plunging speculators and investors into economic ruin and despair. After the
collapse, true connoisseurs and tulip growers continued to buy and sell
superior guaranteed varieties albeit at more reasonable prices instead of the
grossly inflated prices of the tulip mania times.
