Neil,--Thanks for the feedback. I did these interviews for a webinar Scarlett and I are doing in June. The challenge was to get the garden owners to be available in advance. I made the arrangements based on the weather forecast for a calm day. The additional complication was Scarlett, who has better recoding equipment, was not available to record during peak bloom season. I was able to get another club member to do the camera work. Unfortunately when we got to the gardens it was windy, despite the weather forecast. We did the best we good given the circumstances. Anyone familiar with desert weather will understand the difficulties. The two gardens we did the next day were fine.Unfortunately, the videos from the three gardens we recorded on that windy day are unusable, unless there is a professional way to clean them up I will have to re-record them. Now the photographer I used is out of town until May 24. The gardens won’t be in bloom then but it will be ok as part of the original videos we recorded with no sound were a walkthrough the gardens with the irises in bloom that will be added to the end of the interviews.Hopefully we will be able to get all this done by when we are supposed to do the webinar.Howie

Newer iPhones and other smart phones (USB-C or LIGHTING connector) are great and always with you.I did put discuss a proposal to buy a set of mics and make it available for lending. I do think that we might encourage local photographers / videographers to consider having a two transmitter set to record high quality interview with our great hybridizers.My dream of doing this has been tempered by some health conditions. But I still hope locals will do this. The sound quality on any video device will only be as good as the sound captured. Wired and directional microphones are and option, but only a wireless connection provides the most mobility and flexibility. It would be absolutely necessary for a garden stroll. (Of course in that case a narrative could be separately recorded.)What would I like the Board to do? Do any of you have professional video editing software or know someone who does?
I have conducted interviews of five of the 2022 convention gardens. Two of the interviews are fine but three of them were done on a windy day and the recordings have severe background wind noise.
The software I'm using does not have the capability of removing a significant amount of the wind noise. If any of you are able, I'd like to forward to you the three interviews in question, remove the wind noise and then return them to me so I can do the final editing for an upcoming webinar.
