Re: Putting 'Basic Iris Culture' booklet on the AIS web page

I have nothing against educating the public, it is the
primary goal of the Iris society. But the society is
at risk of becoming much less then it is today. We may
have to discontinue an issue of the bulletin if
membership continues to fall. The question is how can
we get members? If we continue to provide all the
services we do and dont get the support needed we
will not be able to provide much of anything in the
future. I believe we can provide some information for
free and hope that people wanting more will want to
support the society by joining. If everything is free
how do we gain the support needed by people joining
the society? I would support everything being free if
someone would show me how we get this new membership.
Right now have of the members of local clubs do not
belong to national. I dont think we should press them
to become members but they reap the benefits of the
society without giving back. If e-members have
everything available to them for free what supports
the structure that makes it possible in the first
place? I am all ears?
