All, It would be helpful from my perspective to have a better idea about what we want to include in the video. Shooting the gardens in bloom, with or without a drone, does not present a problem if the filming is done without folks in the garden and with the permission of the garden owners. If we want to shoot film of convention visitors in the gardens, or at the convention, then we are better off with signed consents. This can be obtained when folks enter the garden or enter the convention site. It can be done when folks register. Thinking ahead for the next convention, we can include the consent with the registration information itself. Depending on how you want to go, I can draft a consent form for use at the convention. If we shoot with a hand held camera then I had been told before that an entry point to the shooting location specifying that each person entering may be part of a video will be necessary as well as an announcement during the event. For more protection, a legal document called Life Rights Consent Agreement may be needed from each person entering the shooting site. Of course, legal counsel will be needed. I thought the idea was for the DVD to be a promotional item to get people interested in irises and AIS - one of the basic tenets of our charter.
I doubt the market for a “for sale” “This is AIS” DVD is big enough for any professional producer to be interested.
However before we get into a lengthy discussion of the merits, we need to know some idea of the cost.
