RE: AIS DVD

Good afternoon Jill,

Thanks for visiting us.

Here's another consideration for making the video.  If we include people in the video, do we have to have their permission to film them or is it thought the filming would be at altitude and people (if they would in it) wouldn't be recognizable?  What we do if children were in a garden during filming?  Would Presby want a say in our filming in their garden?

Overall, if the above concerns may be addressed, we think filming for distribution on You Tube and Facebook is the way to go.  If people want a DVD copy after they have seen it, we will cross that iris field when we get to it.

I agree with Bob and John but before we mass produce lots of DVDs, consider just uploading it to AIS Facebook and put it on You Tube. Jill

Not to get too far ahead of the discussion on form and content, but keep in mind that as far as cost goes, the AIS Foundation can probably help. Bob

I thought the idea was for the DVD to be a promotional item to get people interested in irises and AIS - one of the basic tenets of our charter.

I doubt the market for a “for sale” “This is AIS” DVD is big enough for any professional producer to be interested.

However before we get into a lengthy discussion of the merits, we need to know some idea of the cost.

Thanks

John

What I am saying is this venture should be left to private enterprise and not AIS funded and fronted.

I could imagine squeezing a couple of hundred out of the budget. Perhaps if we knew the cost we could get enough $20 donations to cover it and each donor could get a DVD.
