Re: AIS Website
John,
Question #1
What do you think the main audience for the website is? (AIS members?
Non-AIS members? Experienced iris growers? Beginner iris growers?
Hybridizers? People wanting to buy irises? Wanting to find clubs?
Other?[obviously I have not listed everything nor necessarily even
the most important ones])
I would think it would be a mixture of all of the above. I agree that
probably the most coming from AIS members.
Question #2
Why do you think they come to our website?
For a number of reasons. The web site for me is one of my first sources
of information. I would hope and think for other people too.
Questions #3
What action do you want people to take when they first come to our
website.
The front page of the web site should be constructed in a way to entice
the individual to want to press a button to find get more information. I
would like our web site to be user friendly and very easy to use when
accessing. To find answer to their questions or whom to contact to get
the answers as quickly as possible without a lot of trouble locating the
answers.
Question #4
What do you think the primary emphasis of our site should be?
To be a source for Mr/Mrs General Public to locate the information they
are looking for to answer their questions and if they cannot find an
answer to have a person to contact for assistance. Also to be an
educational tool for ALL.
Question #5
While it is important to have as much information as possible on our
website, should we structure the site so that the most important
information for the highest use audience is the most readily
available. If not what should be the highest priority? (Yes we want
to have obvious links to the other types of information.)
Yes, I think the most important information should be made readily
available and easy to locate.
Question #6
What do you think the bad things about our website are?
I have to agree with others that the front page is not very impressive
and needs to be made to entice one to go further into the web site,
whether they are being curious or looking for information. Maybe using
more pictures and color, color, color.
Question #7
What websites demonstrate the kind of things you would like to see
for the AIS website?
Question #8
What other questions should be asked here?
Question #9
What other ideas do you have?
