      STETSON, ROBERT
      Robert "Rob" Stetson died July 12, 2007. A Colorado native, he graduated
from South Denver High School and served with the US Army in Viet Nam and
Europe. Rob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rick. A happy
man, liked and respected by all, and judgmental of none. Rob's love of life
was expressed in many ways. He was a well-known member of Denver's music
community. He played guitar in several professional venues in Denver,
including the "Exodus." A hobby and passion was growing and developing new
varieties of hybrid irises. He was a longtime member of the American Iris
Society and the Aril Society International. Rob developed and registered a
number of new iris varieties, and a great achievement was winning the grand
prize at the 2000 International Iris Competition in Florence, Italy, with his
pale pink hybrid, "H. C. Stetson," named for his grandfather. He had a natural
skill with motorcycles as a rider, racer, and mechanic.
      Rob's friends are invited to gather in celebration of his life this
Saturday, August 4 from 2-5PM in the park on Bonnie Brae Boulevard at Ellipse
Way.
