Re: Motion for library exhibits
Ibve followed the discussions on a proposed satellite library with interest.
I certainly canbt see why there couldnbt be multiple library exhibits if
there is a willing entity to host a secondary exhibit. After all, real
libraries generally have branch libraries, and they do lend/share items
between branches. But I do have a question. Is there a proper library
catalog of what is being kept in the AIS library? Is this catalog
available to the membership for review and lookup of items? Many real
libraries now have on line catalogs. I went looking to the AIS website to
see if something was there, I didnbt see anything, did I miss it? A simple
PDF catalog file/list would be a good start. How does anyone know if there
is something of important interest for them residing in the current library
if there isn't an available catalog?

Clarence let me point out that you did not donate them to the AIS library
which enforces the point I have been making. If Presby and AIS had a working
agreement and a permanent or semipermanent contract to house a satelite
exhibit and be essentially a branch of the AIS library than maybe you would
have donated them to The AIS library with the provision that they be on
display at Presby. It seems both libraries could benefit by a cooperative
dtructure in place.

Susan is the voice of wisdom. I personally believe that Presby would be a
good
place for our permanent AIS library. They already run a library, are staffed
and capable. I have donated a number of Ethel Peckham's watercolors of
irises
to Presby, confident that they will be preserved and on display to the
public.
