Cheryl; I am glad someone is giving this some thought. You have a good idea and I may check it out. But the organization and development of the video is not really the hard part. Getting someone to take the desired footage is really to problem, and this probably could be best accomplished by individuals who are already irisarians and active in the Iris society. The small clips of footage we need can only be taken at Iris events; conventions; shows; garden tours. If we can find people who are already at these events it would be less expensive than hiring someone from outside that would have to travel to them.

Bob,
Have you thought of approaching a college with a "media" program and seeing if
a student would be willing to work on this with a grant from the Foundation?
This is just what grad students could utilize. It's how we got our original
website for Region 15. Just a thought.

the board. I have contacted the videographer who did the AHS video and he
would be willing to work with as much material and sweat equity as we can
provide in order to keep a cost low. I will send out a plea now for video
clips of shows, treks, gardens, etc. that we could look at to use as material.
Perhaps the northern zones would still have opportunities to take videos. The
AHS video I believe took two years to get the material they needed. If we can
draw on our members perhaps we could get these shots together sooner.

develop a script so that we can clearly define the message and the
professionals have a guide to work by. We can't understand the cost (which we
would need to put together a funding request) without understanding the scope
of the project.
