These are the basic guidelines I follow in 100 Years Bold! as well.

Hi Everyone:
I have received a few emails today about capitalization.  These are the guidelines for capitalization used in the chapters.  Let me know the ones I missed.  :)

Names of awards are capitalized.  In the sentence, “It is recommended that a written ballot be used by the judges for selecting the best specimen of the show.”  the judges are selecting an iris to be the best specimen.  The judges will give an award, Best Specimen of Show, to the iris with the most votes.

Specific names of committees are capitalized.  “The Show Committee and Awards Committee work hand in hand to document the winners of each show.  It is a challenge to find people to work on these committees.”

Officer names are not capitalized unless used with a person’s name.  “At the November SDIS club meeting, the president was unable to attend.  The guest speaker was President John Wister.”
