As John Jones has already announced, the AIS on-line subscription is up and
running and available for business.
The other links to this on the AIS website are also all in place now, I
added them this morning. There are direct links from the main AIS page and
also to and from the Membership Information page.
John did indeed do a lot of work behind the scenes to make this happen, both
in the initial research, logistics and implementation. Maybe it did not
happen as quick as some people felt it should but then there is a whole lot
more to this than just inserting a button on a web page... a lot more. One
aspect is that we are handling peoples money here for a service and it has
to happen correctly, first time and every time. We are there now.
Use it, promote it as easy access to AIS membership, and then continue to
promote the AIS to both new and existing members. The first sale
(membership) is important but the second one (the membership renewal) is
more important as it means we have delivered on the promises made first time
around. I leave you to go forth on your AIS mission not the least of which
is to enjoy irises!

The AIS PayPal online subscription page is now active and will gladly take
your money.. You can go directly to it at:
http://www.irises.org/ppmbrshp/aisonlinembrshp.htm
It is not accessible form the main website yet. Chris will add a button on
the Home page and on the standard membership page shortly so that there is a
path from the Home page.
I am sure there are things that will need to be changed or fixed, please let
me know and I will see if I can accommodate them.
I am not whining, complaining or bragging, but while it may have taken some
programmer 2 hours to set up a PayPal website for a nursery, the AIS site
represents a little over 30 hours of my time setting up the various pages,
getting the correct code written for the buttons, testing, and then
reconfiguring so that the information flowed directly to Tom Gormley.
Thanks to Tom for his patience and help, and to Chris Hollinshead for his
help and support.
MIS and SPCNI have both told me they would like to be on our PP page and I
am considering how best to architect the page structures
Now that I have done the first page set, the next should be easier.
