I attended Louise Bellagamba's wake today and we celebrated her life with  
her five children and four remaining sisters and brother.  I will speak at  her 
funeral in the morning.  She was the matriarch of the St. Louis, MO  plant 
growing community and my mentor.  I have written an obituary for the  Region 18 
Bulletin and will have a short write-up in the Milestones  column in the 
October AIS Bulletin.  Her death marks the end of an  era in the iris community in 
St. Louis.  She was special.  Very  special.
