Great! I AM TRYING TO SIMPLIFY THE BUREAUCRACY NOT COMPLICATE IT mORE. --BP I think All the uses of Copyright should go through public relations from the Copyright committee too, but do we have to make this the Federal Government. This is why nothing gets done.

I am not saying that we should not modify our policy, but as I remember we do have an ac hoc committee on intellectual property.

I believe that the committee and/or its chair were given the authority to grant other institutions or individuals permission to reprint/quote AIS intellectual property (which includes the AIS Bulletin) and to refer only significant issues to the President or BOD. To my knowledge that committee has never been dissolved. The original Chair was Jody Nolin and I believe the current chair os Bob Holingworth. 

So if all this still stands, it is not necessary to request board action on all requests, only on those deemed significant by the IP Committee.

Perhaps the AIS Secretary or Recording Secretary/Policy Chair can confirm this.
