There are often packs of entry cards, and a handful of 81/2' x 11'
certificates, as well as the ribbons themselves. Also packs of "Invitation of
Join" 3-fold brochures. The packs of things might well break through a soft
package in mailing.
Perhaps another approach might be to institute a policy to ship via regular
mail, with a surcharge for Priority Post to clubs and show chairs that
don't/can't get their orders to the supplies chair in time to use regular
mail.
If a club could realize some savings by earlier action, perhaps it would
decrease the number of last-minute requests? Would that be too
difficult to administer? I would not want to increase the supplies chair's
workload.
