Greetings,
One comment, I know that I have always avoided "surveys" of any
kind, I'm
just too busy. However, I like the idea of trying to find out who
visits
our site and how they found us. How about saying something like
"Tell us
how you found us." instead of "survey", which always sounds like it
will
take a long time to do with multiple questions.
I love this idea of an AIS members only website featuring info on the
affiliate clubs. Something to think about for the future.

This topic alone is one great result of having AISDiscuss...I agree
with a
lot of the comments that answer John's questions...we need to make the
website sell the advantages of AIS as quickly and easily as
possible and we
should always be changing it with new pictures and information...
One comment came up about not knowing who is going to the website and
why...Perhaps we can ask them... Maybe add a link to a "survey on this
website" or a link to a "survey on the products and services of the
AIS".
This could give us instant feedback on how the site and AIS is doing.
As an incentive to joining the AIS I think we should also advertise
the
advantages of the AIS Members Only website...
This may be a little further away from the main focus of the AIS,
but should
we have a link that takes people to "what are the activities of
affiliate
clubs"..what are the exciting reasons to join a club and
particularly THIS
club..
Thanks John and everybody...
Jill

Subject: [AISdiscuss] AIS Website
Last November, I asked you all on this list for suggestions about the
AIS website.
(Well some of you are new to the list since then, so this is you
first exposure to the questions.)
I got two responses (thank you both).
So I ask again (with slightly modified questions):
What do you think the main audience for the website is? (AIS members?
Non-AIS members? Experienced iris growers? Beginner iris growers?
Hybridizers? People wanting to buy irises? Wanting to find clubs?
Other?[obviously I have not listed everything nor necessarily even
the most important ones])
Why do you think they come to our website?
What action do you want people to take when they first come to our
website.
What do you think the primary emphasis of our site should be?
While it is important to have as much information as possible on our
website, should we structure the site so that the most important
information for the highest use audience is the most readily
available. If not what should be the highest priority? (Yes we want
to have obvious links to the other types of information.)
What do you think the bad things about our website are?
What websites demonstrate the kind of things you would like to see
for the AIS website?
What other questions should be asked here?
What other ideas do you have?
Now is your chance.
Thanks
John
