Hi Dave,
   
  Roy went into the hospital Jan 8th  for surgery and anticipated being home in 
4 to 5 days.  Unfortunately, there were complications, and Roy had to have a 
second surgery on Jan 14th. Following that surgery he was in intensive care for 
about a week and then in a different part of the hospital for a few days of 
physical therapy.  
   
  His daughter Sandra is staying with him as he recouperates at home.

Good news -- Roy is home.

According to his daughter Sandra, he still finds it difficult to carry on long 
conversations, so I was not able to talk with him tonight.

He did relay through Sandra that he really appreciates all of the cards and 
flowers and messages of good cheer that he has received during the past few 
weeks.

He is getting stronger by the day and his health is improving daily and hopes 
to soon be back to full activity.
