Dear Jim:

     Ken was President when I was elected to the Board of Directors. I believe
it was at the Memphis convention and the first thing that Ken said to me was,
"What job do you want?" I told him "Affiliates 'and he said OK. He didn't fool
around. He came right to the point. You never needed to wonder where Ken stood
on a certain issue. He followed through on erything he was supposed to do. In
the meantime, he was an outstanding hybridizer of Siberian Irises. Dave

It has come to my attention that past AIS  president Kenneth M. Waite died
n October.  Many will remember  the AIS Convention "Down to the Sea in
83"
n Boston where Ken's  'Pops Concert' was so appropriately named and won
he
resident's  Cup.  I will have a complete obituary in the April edition of
