RE: Response From Dave Niswonger to Paul Black Letter
Hi Dorothy,
Thank you for educating me on the history of DIS and MIS. I have only been
successful in growing Apricot Drops, though I
have tried many other miniatures. My area (southern California north of LA)
does not get the cold that they seem to require, but the SDBs I have seem to do
well in small window box planters that line my walkway. (Plus they get an ice
bath now and then in the summer time!) My husband is a big fan of SDBs. I
wish the two societies would merge just for the concentration of resources,
plus
the common interest, growing requirements, etc. that they have. I absolutely
love looking at the miniatures at the conventions, and the Siberians, which I
also can't grow-too hot no shade! Thanks again for your information.
