Subject: AIS 2012 Convention Guest Iris Clarification
Iris Hybridizers:
It has come to my attention that there is confusion about the number of
cultivars that will be accepted as guests for the 2012 AIS National
Convention in Ontario, California. The request for guest iris published in
the April, 2010 Bulletin omitted a limit on cultivars. At this time the
guest iris committee is putting a limit of 80 cultivars (including
seedlings) per hybridizer to be submitted as guest iris for the
convention. The rhizomes per each cultivar is limited to 3.
Additionally, each hybridizer may send ONE rhizome of a seedling for blind
judging. It must be indicated on the packing slip that it is for the blind
judging and it will be different from other seedlings submitted and will
not be included in the limit of 80 cultivars.
The requested shipment receipt dates remain as published, August 16 through
September 5.
I will be sending this message to other hybridizers but if you would forward
this message to other hybridizers I would appreciate your help.
Sincerely,
Mike Monninger
Guest Iris Chairperson
