RE: Clarification - E-memberships

Thank you for the clarification Judy.  As I was unable to attend the Strategic Planning meeting due to travel restrictions, it seems like I missed a lot of discussions.

To: AISdiscuss@aisboard.org

There has been some discussion recently about E-memberships, in particular whether or not the Iris Register will be included in this type of membership and thus will cease to exist as a separate service.

I want to clarify that E-memberships have not yet been defined, therefore, it is too early to know what may or may not be included in this type of membership.

Following the Fall 2009 Board Meeting at which the motion to create three types of memberships: a Virtual membership, Print membership and a Full membership comprising both, Roy Epperson charged the Strategic Planning Committee, chaired by Gary White, to create an implementation process for this action and to present the committee's recommended plan for implementation at the Board meeting in Madison.

Included in this implementation plan would be recommendations on the features to include in each level, cost for each level, etc.

Continuation of the Iris Register in its current state has been brought up during discussions among members of the Strategic Planning Committee regarding what features should be included in each level of membership.  John Jones and Tom Gormley have been brainstorming on how best to implement any necessary changes in the membership data base in order to be prepared should a change be approved by the Board.

The Strategic Planning Committee will present their recommendations to the Board in Madison, at which time they will be discussed and decisions made.
