Sad News

It is with regret and sadness that I inform you of the death of Bennett
Jones.  He passed away peacefully yesterday, March 31, at the age of  92.  A
long time member of AIS, Bennett served two terms on the Board of Directors,
in the 1970s and again in 1991-1994.and was a prolific hybridizer of median
irises, especially SDBs.  He will be long remembered.

 

His son, Bob Jones, indicates that a memorial service will be held in
Portland at a later date.  When received, details will be distributed.
