RE: 2014 AIS Convention

Cheryl, I remember now an earlier AISdiscuss or an RVP note you sent to all of us, about the RVP Rep and Nom committee. Those important pieces of business seem to be done in a hurry at the end of the meeting, having more time time will make that less rushed. As I remember there are certain restrictions on who can be nominated, in terms of which year of their RVP term they are serving. Looking forward to the meeting in Dallas. Sue

Hi Sue,
Unfortunately, the RVP meeting MUST be held prior to the second session of the AIS Board of Directors meeting because the new RVP Rep and members of the Nominating committee need to be elected by the RVPs and approved by the AIS board, which is why the meeting is held the morning prior to the Board of Directors meeting. Can't be helped. I hope by combining the reception with
the meeting we will be able to conduct business while we eat.

Donna and John seem to have a good ideas for the RVP meeting:
More time for the meeting and a later meeting time.
How does the RVP counselor and other RVPs feel about such a change?
Would it put RVPs who serve on the Board in conflict with other required
meetings?

I agree with Donna Lowry, RVP of Region 2,
that the time alloted for the RVP
meeting last year in Dallas was, for sure,
not enough. Not even close. My
problem is that some of the RVPs will be
arriving from the LSI convention on
Sunday and I do not think that we should
be penalized, by an early RVP
meeting.
Suggest a Sunday evening meeting for
RVPs of minimum 2 hours.

The conflict I see is the

meeting. If we schedule
that early on Sunday (like 8am?) and
combine the RVP

same time),
Greetings:

As a third year
RVP, I would like to comment. This year's meeting
(1hr) was far too short for
the RVP's to discuss topics among ourselves.
Then, we had BOD people come to
the meeting and monopolize a good deal of
that hour.

I didn't hear anything
from the BOD people that I hadn't heard
before. What I really needed was more
time with the other RVP's.

Thanks for
listening to my gripe.
