A proposal regarding the ordering and  purchasing process for Clarence Mahan's
current iris publication has been  floating around for discussion and proposal
for ballot.  After  discussion and suggestion on the pricing element of this
proposal Robt has  restated his motion to read:  That AIS provide a special
sale offer of  Clarence Mahan's new book, to members at $59 domestic,  $67.00
international.  The sales offer should provide two periods in  which orders
will be collected.  One period should collect orders  until Dec. 1st, then an
order placed for 50 books, the minimum to get the  discount, or if greater the
total books ordered.  These would be sent  as soon as possible upon receipt,
hoping for pre-Christmas delivery.   The second order period should be for
advertising the offer in the AIS  Bulletin.  Orders would be collected until
March 1st.  At that  time any inventory left from the first order placed for
50, and/or whatever  would be needed to complete the orders over 50.  If there
is any  inventory left after March 1st it should be sold at $75 each domestic,
and  $83.00 international.  Gary White had seconded the original  motion,
however, as I have not heard from him within the last 24 hours,  giving his
second to the revised motion, I therefore, second Robt's  motion.  As time is
of the essence, the balloting is now officially  open to all voting members.
