Thank you Janet. I would suggest that you start with the minutes from the spring meeting in 1977 since that was the first meeting that Carol Ramsey served as Secretary. We can always go further back in time but based on Hal's comment we should start in 1977.
I have reviewed the minutes from the Fall 1976 meeting (When Mrs. Ramsey was elected)

As Dave suggests, I do have a recollection, pretty vague, of the
republication of the seal to correct the date.  I think it was around
1980, and I believe Carol Ramsey , then Secretary and a stickler on
details and accuracy, brought up the matter.  She recorded board
meeting minutes and I believe the minutes were published in total,
not just in summary.  With my eyesight problem, it would be very
difficult for me to go through printed minutes of that era, but I
suspect the information is in there somewhere. I hope my recollection
is accurate, but I would not put a lot of money on it!  Ron Mullin
might have some memory of this matter.

The current seal (or logo) was designed in the mid fifties and

ublished in Garden Irises in 1959. However that particular version
ad 1921 as the date instead of 1920 the correct founding date for
he society.
Some time afterwards the seal was re-rendered to incorporate the
orrect date. The 1921 dated version was used as recently as 1978 in
he reprint of TWOI.  We have copies of the correct one, but I would
ike to find when it was first published.
Anyone have any references?
