Terry I look forward to working with this. I have been thinking about the
promotion of award winners for quite a long time. There are several problems
that are difficult to overcome for the needs of a National magazine. i would
be willing to tackle them but again it might mean some changes that is hard to
deal with. There are many aspects of AIS that need promotion. As everyone
knows I have been trying to do things on many different fronts. Sadly for us
to be at our best we need to bring many desparate parts together and keep them
all working. We all know we have had one major problem this year that is
hopefully in the process of being resolved. I have a great deal of confidence
in the Bulletin team to make an even better product. I think we are beginning
to move forward but as everyone knows wishing does not make things so and we
all have a lot of work to do. At the moment the library has enormous potential
with a fantastic endowment but until there are plans that can make the library
a thing of pride we are missing many oportunities.

Hi Bob and all
Several years ago, we ( Erica and I) set up a "template" for a public
announcement of the AIS National medal award winners with pictures. This was
done after the October bulletin was ready to go to press since all of the
material was in there and could easily be retrieved. This was intended to go
to all national garden magazines. Somehow, these CD's never got down the
pipeline to the magazines.
I think it's time has come to try again. Well, almost. Erica and Kelly and I
will all have our hands full adapting the January Bulletin to the new 8 1/2
x 11" template.
When I get home tomorrow, I'll see what we can scare up.
The Rose Society does a good job of promoting their all american winners and
I dont see why we cant do the same thing. Sure beats trying to promote the
library!
