I have changed the topic title since this has little to do with my attempt to publicize the library and create a plan that might bring in donations.
Yes I have thought about some sort of Media kit. I proposed about 3 years ago that we even have a press release section on our website, but could find no one who was will to help design such a feature. I put out a call for someone who would be willing to take on the resposibility of Press releases a couple of months ago but no one has called. Are you volunteering? Public relations and advertising could have at least 5 committees dedicated to diferent purposes but so far finding interested individuals has been difficult.
I am not sure Local clubs need direction as to how to get Local events broadcasted. Since they are closer to the situation, know the local papers, radio stations, and TV the would probably be able to come up with plans better than I. But if anyone wants my help I would be happy to do what I could.

Bob,
Have you thought of providing the RVP's with a Media Kit? Something
like a template for notification to local newspapers, TV & Radio Stations,
especially notification of local shows. The RVP's currently notify the
society of the shows and the winners, so it would be an easy ad-on for them to
do this. They could also do the same thing with notification of new
officers of the society. Local newspapers are always looking for garden info,
and local TV stations are always looking for something "colorful" to feature.
This is "0" cost promotion.
Thanks,
Jerry
