Hi Bob.
My recommendation is that we have one
traveling library for clubs and regions etc to borrow. Much the same as
the AIS traveling display. In this library should be some of the most
current books on iris - all types of iris. Materials that the committee
deems as a learning tool to represent all iris. This should be available
for loan up to thirty days. AIS would pay the postage and insurance to the
destination and the borrowing organization would pay for it to return. I
think we should try to get donations from local clubs and Regions to purchase
the materials for the traveling library. Set an amount for what is needed
and solicitate funds. I would be willing to take responsibility for the
library. Since AIS is in a financial bind at the moment I think we could
get the fuinds by other means.

Subject: [AISdiscuss] Library Exhibits
Committee
I am formally requesting
proposals for the Committee charged with ex situ Exhibits of the AIS library.
Although the motion stated that we would produce a report to the board by
February, Roy had not constituted the committee
until January and I requested an extension which he
granted at that time. With Royâs death things and with the discussion of the
wiki I was set back on my time line, and Judy has agreed that we can report at
convention. So feel free to submit your ideas. In this initial report, only a
few will be examined in detail, but others will be kept on file and
recommendations made as examination continues. Thanks for your interest, Bob Pries chair and committee members;
Jeanne Plank, Gary White, Jill Bonino, Bob Hollingworth, Tracy Plotner. and
Judy Keisling.
