RE: Motion regarding advertising on AIS website

Hi all,
I think Gary's idea of rotating the Dykes, major medal winners, and photo contest winners for the last four months of the cycle is a great idea.

I like this motion a lot.   It adds value to hybridizers and our Bulletin advertisers, as well as increased interest to the website.  And, I hope it will increase advertising in the Bulletin. Most importantly though, is that it will greatly improve the dynamics of the main page of the AIS website.   Excellent idea, John!

I do have one question.  Since this rotatating library of advertiser's photos covers two-thirds of the year, what are your plans for the remaining four months (October thru January)?   I know that it is not part of this motion, but am curious if it would include Dykes and Major Medal winners, Photo Contest winners, etc  But, maybe the types of photos for that last third of the year are not yet determined.   I know others will be asking about this, so thought I would get it out of the way early in the discussion.  Inquiring minds, you know.

John Jones moved and Ruth Barker seconded the below motion which is now open for discussion.

"I move that any business that, by virtue of their advertising in the AIS Bulletin, qualifies for listing on the  Commercial Directory on the AIS website be allowed to submit one (1) iris picture to be included in the rotating library on the AIS Home page. Said pictures to be included in the library from February through May for Bearded irises and June through September for beardless irises and that said time frames be at the discretion of the Electronic Services Committee Chair."
