Re: E-memberships
Just so you all know I am in the process of setting up the PayPal
account for AIS. It is not a one day process. It is not hard there are
just some time delays in the process.
Once that is set up and I understand how to set up a cart with a menu
of items for someone to select, we can add what we want to the
"catalog".
At the moment we will have a single address account. By that I mean
that one email address will receive notification of a transaction. This
would logically be Tom Gormley for memberships. Currently it is me
until we get the system set up and debugged.
Do we want to have the ability to take Section subscriptions via PayPal?
We might want to have a separate account for www.irisregister.com since
I manage that process. It would save Tom from having to forward
messages to me and might make accounting easier. I need to understand
more about how to manage multiple PayPal accounts.

Let's not discuss the on line "Join Button," that will be happening
extremely soon -- please direct your attention to creating a class of
membership
called "e-member" and what benefits AIS could offer a potentially
interested
party, as well as what new infusion of vitality it could bring to
the AIS.
Gottcha! We are glad to hear the Join Button is close to
completion-we had
not heard that. Will you include joining the Sections in that also?
As for "diagramming" out the E-Memberships:
Separate dues fee for "no mail" type membership?
What type of on-line benefits could we offer? Some Bulletin articles
in pdf
format? The whole Bulletin in pdf format? More pictures that are not
available to non-members? Power Point downloadables?
