I think you are right that we need someone designated well in  advance.  
Some of our members are starting to come through with 2013  pictures.  Janet 
and I have received pictures from Andi Rivarola, Jan  Lauritzen and Will 
Plotner.  We seem to have all the major AIS awards  covered now except Siberian, 
C.G.White, and Sydney B. Mitchell.  Also we  lack Cook Cup, Hager Cup and 
President's Cup awards.  I was under the  belief that we would get a picture 
of awarding the Morgan-Wood Medal to Marty  Schafer/Jan Sacks for 'So Van 
Gogh' at the Michigan Siberian/Species  mini-convention.  We haven't heard 
anything from there yet.
 
We have received pictures for the AIS Gold Medal (actually to be personally 
 awarded at a Region 13 meeting later) received by John Ludi for Jean Witt, 
and  the DSMs to Judy K. and Jill B. as well as a shot of Dr. Nina Alexeeva 
who  visited us from Russia -- our farthest Convention visitor and who 
presented at a  special SIGNA meeting.

AIS used  to have an official photographer that was an AIS member and a 
volunteer who  would take pictures at the AIS Awards Banquet as well as during 
the convention  to be used in the AIS Bulletin.  Maybe we should seek out a 
volunteer  that is a good photographer willing to do this for AIS.  In the 
past it  had been George Waters, Larry Stayer, and Bob  Plank.
