AIS Board Members,
I move that all electronic motions be made on AIS confer and after
they are
seconded they be placed on AIS discuss for 10 days prior to moving
them to
AISvote.
The current use of AISdiscuss to make motions is the opposite of
the way we
conduct AIS Board business. In Board meeting a voting member of
the AIS
Board makes a motion and another Board member seconds it before
opening the
motion up to public discussion.
The electronic process should be the same process as the way we
conduct
business in our Board meetings. AISconfer is the correct
discussion level
for the making and seconding of motions.
All the best,
Brad Kasperek

Thank you so much, Jill, for providing info that will keep AIS
Board members
informed and reasonably comfortable about AIS finances during this
"wobbly"
period.
Cheers!

Hi All,
Just a quick note to let you know that with the current wobbles in
the US
banking system, all of the AIS investments are safe.
Many of you saw on the news that INDYMAC Bank, headquartered in
Pasadena,
CA, was closed by the Federal Reserve on Friday July 11, 2008.
The AIS Treasury holds NO certificates of deposits or other bank
accounts
with INDYMAC. In addition, all of the CDs that AIS money is
invested in
are
all under the $100,000 FDIC insurance limit.
If you have any further questions, let me know...
Thanks,
Jill Bonino
Treasurer
