Re: Chapter 3 in Handbook for Judges, Feb 2 mtg Tuesday

Sorry I missed Tuesday - I get up at 2:30am to go to work and 8:00pm meeting time is nearly impossible to stay awake till . I struggled with the first meeting two weeks ago , but powered through , I appreciate everyone’s input and time involved in this arduous task . But it is long overdue. Have a great day - hopefully I can make the next discussion fir the next chapters....... stay safe , Spring is just around the corner !!!!

The most glaring mistake in chapter 3 is about the symposium ballot.  When I was RVP, we had to check to see if the voters were AIS members when we received their ballots.  Then AIS posted the ballot on the website, and I remember discussion about who could vote at a Board meeting.  It was agreed by the Board that anyone could vote whether they were members or not, and even my dog could vote.  I recall saying that my dog likes spurias better than TBs. At that time Riley Probst was going to his club meetings getting everyone to vote.  My dog is 4 years old, so it must have been a recent decision. So I think this section ought to be amended before our meeting in Feb.  Thanks. Phyllis Wilburn

Hi Everyone:
Success!  Last night Chapter 2 was amended and approved by the AIS Board of Directors.  It took two hours, but we did it!

Two hours makes for a lengthy process and at this rate, the handbook revision won't be finished until next year.  To accelerate the progress, the board has agreed to meet three times a month, the first three Tuesdays of the month.  The next handbook board meeting will be February 2 (Tuesday) at 5PM PST to work on Chapter 3.  The link will be posted a few days before that meeting.

Chapter 3 has been posted twice, which is to say, you should double check that you have the latest version:  Ch 3 Awards & Honors in new order

The working copy of the chapter is on my laptop.  We think the process of approving the chapters would move more quickly if the wordsmith suggestions were in place before each meeting.  This is to say, if you have suggestions for changing the wording, send them to me this week.  itsaclearday.claire@gmail.com
This would save time during the meeting for the discussion of changes to content  and policy.

In case you missed the notice, the regular AIS BOD meeting for January was cancelled.  The next regular board meeting will be February 24th, a Wednesday.

p.s.  WOO HOO!! two chapters approved!!
