I agree with Janet in that when the contest was opened to the public there 
should have been a statement to the effect that "All entries shall become 
the property of the American Iris Society". If that statement was made at 
the onset there would be no need now for this discussion.

If this artist was chosen for her art to be used for the 100th Anniversary
there should have been a form or agreement made to be able to use this logo
wherever AIS deemed usable.  So Mr. Morris you would not need to ask the
artist to use the logo for, cups, totes, aprons, shirts or anything else
for sale for the 2020 Convention.

I think affiliates would jump in to purchase for this.
