Wayne,
As a matter of fact it is something I would like our editor Jane to
continue. I have two more reviews or excerpts I am planning to send to her for
the fall Bulletin (August 15 deadline). I would also like to propose a
column of "Back To Basics" each issue to provide basic iris terms and processes
that might be helpful to newer members. Those of us of a certain age and
iris knowledge take things for granted, but when you read Facebook postings
you quickly realize many people make comments displaying their lack of
knowledge about our favorite flower and how to grow and care for irises. We
would need volunteers to write such articles.
Sharp eyes would have noticed that the summer issue is the first edition
to have a news-stand price of $9.95 US added to the cover. This was
necessary for our board-approved free distribution to Botanical Garden gift shops.
We are hopeful that this new initiative will provide us with better
visibility across the country in botanical gardens and perhaps lead to new
members.
It is good to hear that someone reads the Bulletin and is interested enough
to comment. Jane and I are so close to it that feedback is really
appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Jim,
I enjoyed your article in the latest Irises Bulletin. It's a great idea to
show where irises are being highlighted. Do you intend to continue this as
an occasional regular feature?
In case you are, two more iris stories I recently ran across. The Iowa
Gardener profiled Region 21 member Wanda Lunn in the July/August 2017
issue. More details:

Better Homes and Gardens, pp 72-74, June 2017, "Bearded Iris" had
recommendations of several irises. Thanks to Mike Lockatell for pointing
me to this.
Another great issue for the Irises Bulletin! Thank you for all your work
on it.
