Fwd: Lloyd Zurbrigg

I just opened this message a moment or two ago. I pass this along that
you may pass it on to other Irisarians who have admired the work and talent
of Lloyd Zurbrigg (R4).
     Lloyd, Region 4 RVP 1987 - 1989, and a nationally and internationally
respected irisarian and hybridizer, will be greatly missed.
*****
Additionally:
Earlier this week I learned of the death of another valued Irisarian --
Herb Holk (R15). Herb - along with wife Sara have been important mainstays
of Region 15 for many years. Herb served as Region 15 RVP from 1997-99, and
was a tireless supporter of AIS, its regions and its affiliates.

Hi Jeanne,
Am forwarding the sad news that Lloyd Zurbrigg passed away yesterday.
Not unexpectedly, think he had been ill for some time, but sad for those
who new him well.
I sent a note to Bruce Filardi (for the Bulletin) and Tom Gormley, and
will leave it to you to let any others know, other than the original
list.

I was talking to Clarence just yesterday, and he mentioned that Lloyd
had contacted him and asked him to write his obit for the Bulletin -
amazing.

Best,
Barbara

Message I received - so you know who was advised.

The iris world has lost a great hybridizer and a great friend. Nita has
said
Lloyd wanted any memorial gifts to go to Region 4 AIS General Fund.
Regards,
Susan Grigg
