Hello Jim and all,

I would like to request that if these slides,
specifically the slides from Larry Harder, are being
considered for distribution to the AIS library,
sections, etc, that Region 21 be given the opportunity
to review them.  As you know, Larry was a lifelong
resident of Nebraska and was very active in local iris
societies and Region 21 since the 1960s.  At various
points in his iris career, he was historian for Region
21, editor of the Region 21 Bulletin and RVP.  I would
expect that among those 80,000 slides, there would be
several of historical significance to Region 21.  Many
of these may have little importance outside of Region
21, but may be  valuable to those of us working on the
archives and history of Region 21.  I request that if
these slides are to be distributed about, etc, that
Region 21 be given primary consideration in that
distribution.  We are, of course, primarily interested
in slides of Region 21 members and irises hybridized
in Region 21.  While the slides that would be of
historical significance to us in Region 21 may be a
small percentage of the 80,000 slides, and of little
value outside of Region 21, I hope and trust that we
will be given ample opportunity to evaluate them
before the distribution is made.  There may be several
slides of great importance to the history of Region
21.
